What are the Supply Chain Benefits of EPOS?

Integration of your EPOS system with your stock control software - this allows you to keep stock information up-to-date and increases the efficiency of your supply chain processes. For instance, your EPOS system can automatically determine which product lines are likely to require replenishing next and how long the existing stock should last for given current levels of demand.

Passing of your EPOS and stock control system data to your suppliers - allowing your suppliers to see the current stock and order status of products that they supply you with can help them to increase the efficiency of their planning and purchasing operations. This increase in efficiency can translate to reduced prices for yourself and a reduction in shortages arising from your suppler being out of stock.

Collect data about the movement of your stock - data about how your stock is moving from the point of purchase can be passed to the warehouse and purchasing functions and can be used to help automate purchasing and restocking.

Integrate data from EPOS system and handheld scanners (i.e. barcode / RFID) - to enable you to track specific products / batches of products on their travels from the suppliers to the warehouse to the store to the final point of sale. Having date-stamped location data enables you to see where products are being held up such that you can eliminate bottlenecks and so improve throughput and delivery times.
